The Romania-Laos Business Council (CARL) has appointed Mr. Ioan Anton Mazarianu as its new president and CEO, effective January 1, 2025 for a five-year term.
Mr. Ioan Anton Mazarianu brings over two decades of experience from private sector.
He joined the COMES SA the Romanian leading the company in becoming on of the top makers of custom-made static pressure equipment packages for sulfur recovery, hydrogen reformers, ethylene cracking furnaces, catalyst cracking reduction (CCR), for gas treatment units, including urea, ammonia and methanol plants etc.
During his tenure, he led governance reforms and modernization efforts making COMES SA in one of the leading pillars of Romanian economic export drive.
Professor Dr. Anton Caragea, President of The Institute of International Relations and Economic Cooperation of Romania (IRICER) stated, “What set Mr. Ioan Anton Mazarianu apart was his experience in both business and the chamber movement and his vision for the Romania-Laos Business Council (CARL) future as a champion for Romanian and Laos businesses.”

As President Mr. Ioan Anton Mazarianu prepares for his new role based between Bucharest and Vientiane, the Romania-Laos Business Council (CARL) board is considering bold steps for the development of the bilateral economic relations between Romania and Laos PDR.
